I received my Vista Business upgrade DVD last week and thought I'd install it today using the workaround to bypass the upgrade bit and perform a clean install. I am running Vista on a machine with three SATA drives, and have had the same problem 1 of the 3 times I performed a clean install.

Just installed a SATA Samsung S203 DVD RW which causes VIsta to freeze within about 60seconds! Have tried updating the motherboard, and graphics drivers but no luck. I did manage to get it to work just once Have tried the DVD on Sata 2-4 but no luck. OCZ memory. Everything running at stock speeds, no overclocking!

Win XP - Windows Easy Transfer - HELP
So I try running chkdsk from the Recovery Console. It gets past 60-some-odd %, then goes back to 50% and stays there. Any suggestions would be welcome. Vista doesn't want to install and XP doesn't want to boot. All I have access to is the Vista instasll DVD and the XP Recovery Console from the XP install CD.
